Unit III {lesson1} Internet Technology

Internet technology is such a technology that allows user to access information and communication over the World Wide Web.

Web browser, file transfer protocol, email, Internet service providers and required hardware are the parts of this internet technology. This technology is very popular for news, socializing, shopping research and more. From HTML code to instant messaging, we’ll break down what’s really going on whenever we log on, send an email, visit a popular Web site or post to a blog.

History of Network Technology

First MIT’S J.C.R. Licklider popularized the idea of an “Intergalactic Network” of computers. That means moving network at 1960. Following this idea, scientists developed the concept of “packet switch”. That means big packet of message is dividing into small packet and sending them to the the another computer one by one and re-arranging them again. This technique is the building block of the internet. In 1960s ARPANET(Advance Research Projects Agency Network) developed the workable Internet. Originally funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, ARPANET used packet switching to allow multiple computer to communicate on a single network.

After that TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol am=nd Internet Protocol) was developed by Kahan Vinton Cerf, which is the mother tongue of the Internet now.

ARPANET adopted TCP/IP on January 1, 1983, and from there researchers began to assemble the “network of networks” which became the modern Internet. The Internet took on a more recognizable from in 1990.

Computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.

Now, the web is actually just the most common means of accessing data online in the form of website and hyperlinks. Internet has become one part of people these days.

An introduction to web browser

A web browser (commonly referred to as a browser) is a software application for accessing information on the World Wide Web. When a user opens a particular website, the web browser retrieves the necessary content from a web server then displays the resulting web pages on the user’s device. The web based programs are executed in the browser. The languages used to develop the web based programs are Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML). The most popular web browsers that are used today are Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari and the Opera browser. These browser are free and available for download and use.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee was the person Who develop The first web browser, Nicola Pellow to write the Line Mode Browser, which displayed web pages on dumb terminals. Then, the browser was released in 1991.

Search engine

These are the programs that search an index of the world wide web for keyboards and display the results in order.

Finding Things Online

Every time when we search somethings in the search engine, there are thousands of webpages listed with the helpful information. Google starts deciding out which result to show start long before you can even type, and is guided by a commitments to you to provide the best information.

When you want to find the answer to a question, such as, ‘What is computer’ You need to think about the important keyboards.

You could just type the whole sentence into the search engine, but it will probably ignore some words, like joining words and punctuation. Instead, it might save time to search for keyboards like “computer”.

Then the most probable sites will be listed to you. Go on clicking the sites for you best.
