What is Internet?
Internet is the collection of different computers which are interconnected
worldwide. It is the network of networks or international network.

TCP/IP is the native protocol of Internet. This protocolallows the integration of many
different computers into one single network with highly efficient communication
between them. The short form of internet is the ‘net’. The World Wide Web is one of
its biggest services. It is used by billions of people all over the world, i.e. by the end
of 2019bs, there are 4.39 billion internet users.People can pay money to access the Internet from internet service providers(ISP). Ecommerce, e-learning, e-governance etc. are the major things in the internet today. Some services on the Internet cost nothing to use. Sometimes people who offer these free services use advertising to make money. Censorship and freedom of speech on the Internet is a challenge today.

The competition between the countries led the development of technology. The country USSR is the main cause of Internet. First, in 1957, USSR launched Sputnik into space. USA got irritated and created the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) with a mission. The main function of this agency was for new technology. It started working, in 1962 J.C.R. Licklider proposes the concept of a Galatic Networkwhich means global network of computers and he became the head of ARPA. Another scientist Paul Baran determined that missiles should be controlled by packet switches. So, at 1968 they built the first switch with the help of BBN(Bolt,Beranek and Newman). ARPA became ARPANET.
